The Business Development Manager of Lumax Energy, Frans-Willem Vermaak said the solar market in South Africa has witnessed drastic growth over the years.

 

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research predicts a significant rise in new installations with a possibility of 500 MW per year. This is on top of the estimated 100 megawatts of roof-top and agricultural PV output that have already been installed in the country.

 

Vermaak said the government should provide great support for solar power generation by enhancing regulation, introducing tax incentives or a feed-in tariff in all provinces.

 

He added that the Western Cape is currently the only province with a feed-in tariff scheme.

Renusol’s Managing Director, Sven Künzel said they were very happy t o have won Lumax Energy as a sales partner for South Africa.

The Solar Show Africa 2016 exhibition, formerly known as Power & Electricity World Africa is set to take place in March and will be a great platform for Lumax Energy which is set to display all of Renusol’s mounting solutions.
